Currently, we are in a recession and the current unemployment rate is incredibly high. A lot of the individuals who have lost their careers have also been forced to surrender their medical insurance. Sure, the government is providing assistance with C.O.B.R.A. (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) payments; however, a lot of families can not afford to continue their insurance even with this assistance from the federal government’s stimulus package. An unemployment payment will only go so far and food and shelter will have to come prior to medical health insurance. This is merely a realism of life. Continue reading →
